How much notice do landlords expect in the Bay Area?
Planning to move out of my current place. What's the standard notice period landlords expect in the Bay Area, and does it differ for month-to-month vs a fixed lease?

30 days is standard for month-to-month in California. For a fixed lease you're generally on the hook until the end date unless you find a replacement tenant — check your lease's subletting clause.
